The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995
The Paperwork Reduction Act ( 44 U.S.C. 3501 et seq.) requires the Office of Information
and Regulatory Affairs within the Office of Management and Budget to provide central
guidance for and oversight of federal agencies' information management activities,
including activities under the Privacy Act.
The Paperwork Reduction Act also requires federal agencies to ensure compliance
with the Privacy Act and coordinate management of the requirements of
FOIA, the Privacy Act, the Computer
Security Act, and related management laws.
